Description:
The 2019 Austin Eagle Bowl is set for Thursday December 19th from 1-2:15 PM.  The Austin Eagle Bowl flag football tournament features 24 teams from 4th and 5th grade.  This cross-curricular, school wide event combines elements from Art, Music, Physical Education, and STEM.  Teams are comprised of 6-8 players and have been working to create their own team names and logos in Art class, their own fight songs in Music class, and team playbooks in physical education class.

This year's Eagle Bowl is certain to generate a lot of excitement around the school.  Teams have been working hard on their logos, playbooks, and fight songs. The flag football unit was made possible by a grant from NFL Play 60, acquired by Mr. Peters, HPE teacher at Austin.  Additional flag football equipment and resources have been made possible by funding from Austin's PTO.

The regular season will begin on November 18th.  Games will be played during PE classes and on Club Day throughout the unit.  The playoffs will begin in December, culminating with the top 5th grade team versus a 4th grade all-start team, playing for the Eagle Bowl Championship on December 19th.  In addition to crowning the Eagle Bowl champion, teams in each grade will also be competing for top logo and fight song as part of a collaborative efforts through Art and Music.

This event is open for all classes to watch.  Parents are also encouraged to attend this event as it will be our final send-off to the new school!  In the event of inclement weather or poor field conditions, we may be forced to move the game indoors. In that case, classes and parents will be unable to attend the game.
