Virtual Learning Day Assignments

*If you do not have full access to Verge, please complete the following Virtual Learning activities during Incelement Weather days. 
 
Day 1: 
Language Arts
Read a fiction book. On a sheet of paper, list the setting, characters, and beginning, middle and end of the story. 
 
Social Studies:
Create a rule that you would like to have at your house and why it would be beneficial to your family. 
 
Science:
Put water in a cup and place the cup in the freezer. Observe the changes in water and write them daily. Be sure to include the phases of water!
 
Math: 
Create your own addition flashcards (1-20) and practice them with a family member.  Bring them to school to share.
 
Day 2:
Language Arts:
Write your own story using the characters from the book you read on day 1. 
 
Social Studies:
 Choose a character trait. Write how you are an example of this trait in your community or home.
 
Science: 
Read a non-fiction book about weather, animals, or plants and write three facts you learned. 
 
Math: 
 Create your own subtraction flashcards (1-20) and practice them with a family member.  Bring them to school to share.
 
* ALL ASSIGNMENTS MUST BE TURNED IN UPON RETURNING TO SCHOOL. 

How to access the virtual learning activities for the inclement weather make up days: 

1. You will need to know your child’s 7-digit Dekalb student ID number (same as the lunch number). Your child should know their Dekalb student ID number. 

2. Go to Clever.com 

3. In the upper right corner, click on “log in as a student.”

4. Click “log in with active directory.” 

5. Username is the letter “s” plus your 7-digit student number. Ex: s1234567 

6. Password is “dekalb01” 

7. Now you will see your child’s name in the upper right-hand corner. Click on “verge.” 

8. You should now see under “recent updates” that I have added 2 virtual learning activities.

9. Click on the "Virtual Learning Activity 1” and follow the directions to complete.
