To my Superstar Austin family,
I am delighted to welcome all of you to the 2024-2025 school year! Hopefully, you had a relaxing and enjoyable summer filled with wonderful memories. As the new school year begins, I am excited to see our hallways and classrooms come alive with the energy and enthusiasm of our students.
Austin Elementary is a truly special place where learning and growth are at the heart of everything we do. Our dedicated team of teachers and staff have been working tirelessly to prepare for this year, and we are all eager to embark on another incredible journey of discovery, learning, and achievement with your children.
Your support and involvement are what make Austin Elementary such an exceptional community. I encourage you to join our PTO/Foundation, as your participation helps us provide our students with experiences and opportunities that enhance their educational journey. Our PTO sends out a weekly email with updates on school events, volunteer opportunities, and ways to get involved, so please be sure to sign up to stay informed.
As we begin this new school year, I am confident that together, we will create a positive and enriching environment for our students to thrive. Let's make the 2024-2025 school year a remarkable one filled with growth, success, and unforgettable moments.
Here are a few important dates that will kick off our school year:
1. Open House – Thursday, August 1st is Open House. This is the time for you to sign up for PTO and Foundation, purchase some spirit wear, get your bus information, meet the teacher, and provide some important information about your babies! Times can be found below:
9:45-10:45- Last Name A-K
10:45- 11:45- Last Name L-Z
11:45-1:00- Open
BEFORE OPEN HOUSE: Please know that all returning families must go through the Annual Verification before going through Open House and meeting your child’s teacher. This takes place in parent portal. If you are unable to complete before, you will need to bring the items with you and start in the Media Center before entering the Open House.
Be sure to have your current proof of residency and a valid, government-issued, photo ID as these documents are required to complete the application.
Important forms for Open House: You can print and bring the
Student Health Clinic Form to Open House to reduce the amount of paperwork to be filled out when visiting the classroom.
2. New Parent Orientation: Friday, August 2nd at 8:00 am. This is for our new families. It is a time for you to meet key staff members and get important information about Austin ES. This event will be held in the cafeteria. Bring your coffee and come chat about our school.
3. First day of School: Monday, August 5th; Carpool will start at 7:10. Do not drop off your excited little ones before that time as Austin staff members need to be ready. Families of our PreK-1st grade students, please feel free to walk your little eagle to class on the first day. This will be allowed from 7:25-7:40. (Parking is always extremely hard, please be ready to park off campus to walk).
4. Curriculum Night: Thursday, August 29th; Meet your child’s teacher and learn all about this school year. This event will last from 5:00-7:00 pm. Additional Information soon.
