Novel Studies
Reading is not only fun, but allows us to learn a lot about the world through books. Throughout the year, we will be reading books and participating in novel studies. These studies allow students to become critical thinkers as they read, share thoughts, ask questions and respond to reading selections. Students will become active readers by participating in whole group and small group novel studies. They will discover ways to connect literature to other texts, to themselves, and to the world to increase comprehension. Students will be introduces to a variety of genres, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, fables, and mysteries.
